This dovetailed nicely with Martin Meehan's speculative remark after the Patriot Act was renewed: "How much freedom are we willing to give up to feel safe?", and with the beginning of random searches of commuters on the NYC subway system. Do these politicans and bureaucrats just not understand what they're doing, or are they intentionally turning the world into a police state?
